    This role will assist the Company’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer with general legal and compliance support. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Independently providing high quality and a diverse range of legal and compliance support services.
    • Preparation and revision of various contracts, amendments and life cycle management tools, Assist with Company’s compliance activities, with a primary focus on US pharmaceutical compliance
    • Undertaking operational and strategic responsibilities to maximize the effectiveness of Paralegal services and support within the Legal function at a local and global level.

    Responsibilities

    • Contract drafting and life cycle management support
    • Receipt, review and escalation, as appropriate of contract requests from business departments
    • Review, revise and assist with negotiation of various contracts including Consulting Agreements, Supplier and Vendor Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Distributor Agreements,
    • Work with the Legal Department and business clients to complete contracts in a timely and efficient manner
    • Provide input for a more streamlined contracting process
    • Support the Legal Department with all compliance matters, including assistance with State and Federal Reporting, training and legal and compliance review of Company activities
    • Organizational: Develops and coordinates various projects to support business unit goals and objectives
    • Handles confidential matters with discretion and judgment
    • Perform research for attorneys as requested using computer and printed resources, including internet resources
    • Assist the General Counsel with budgeting process for all active matters
    • Work to support general IP tracking and process
    • Develop, coordinate and successfully implement various projects to support legal and business unit goals and objectives
    • Analyze and adapt processes in order to improve efficiency and identify administrative processes and/or procedures in need of review and revision to ensure efficient and effective use of resources

    Qualifications

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Ability to prioritize work tasks to provide high quality work product to timely meet internal and external deadlines with minimal oversight
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a fundamental job requirement
    • Provide timely input and support to update and maintain database and reports on compliance and contract matters
    • Obtain feedback from General Counsel on quality and scope of legal services
    • Keep up to date on developments in relevant subject matter areas including pharmaceutical industry contracting best practices and anti-kickback laws

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with relevant work experience
    • 5+ years paralegal experience in industry, law firm or Corporate Legal department
    • Experience in pharmaceutical/medical device company is preferred, but not required.
    • Complete understanding and use of paralegal concepts and principles.
    • Some background or exposure to compliance.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Work independently.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Understanding of basic contract law and the legal concepts associated with specific legal needs.
    • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and digest legal opinions, legislation, and legal publications.
    • Exercise initiative and sound judgment; Use legal terminology, prepare legal documents, and follow legal procedures.
    • Locate and identify legal opinions, court decisions, and legislation.
    • Knowledge of: Legal terminology; Records and files organization and use; Basic contract law concepts.
